Hey there new officer!
To make things run smoothly I just want to inform you of the way we handle general bits and pieces of guild leadership.
Guild invites
When you are whispered by someone asking for a guild invite, be aware that not everyone has a authenticator key. There's also scams around with people making a character named something like "*officername*bank", which they then ask a guild invite for. Then when they are promoted to officer alt, they try to rob the guild bank.
Now our guild bank is very well protected but still, this is something we want to avoid. So please try to follow the following steps:
Alts
- if someone doesn't whisper you from their main character at first, please ask them some questions making sure they're who they say they are. The teamspeak password or some reference to an injoke will probably suffice as a check! We promote guildies' alts to alt, initiates alts stay initiate.
Mains
- If it's a main character you're inviting after the whole guild recruitment process has been gone through, we usually check in officerchat if we are really planning on inviting the person. People come in at initiate rank and will stay that way for a while :)
Technicalities
- Use /ginvite name to invite the alt or main to the guild.
- If it is someone's alt, please go to the guild overview in the social panel. Add the main's name to the public note, and your name and date to the officernote so we know who invited the character. This is a remainder of the days that we had less of a recruitment process but it is still useful :)
Raids/discussions
During raids we like to discuss the progress of the run in officerchat as well as note issues with guildmembers. We also like to help prepare the raid group we're in by opening up for invites. :)
Issues with guildies
If there is a serious issue with a guildie, it's best to make a thread on our forums with the name of the guildie as topic, and an explanation of the conflict. We can then discuss what to do about it.
Of course if you feel someone is in serious breach of the code of conduct, you can use /gkick to remove the offender from the guild. Please first check with other officers online, but if none are on, we do trust you to make the right choice. We would also like to be notified by way of a thread though ;) (I would say serious breaches are calling names in guildchat for no good reason, stuff like that).
We don't like to gkick people without telling them why so we always first whisper the person to see what they have to say.
Account security
In case someone seems to be botting (which might be a breach of our code of conduct, but also might mean someone was hacked), you can demote them to initiate to prevent them doing any damage to our guild bank.
If you feel that someone is giving us a bad name and catching attention with botting, you can remove them from the guild and send them a PM that we'll get in touch with them out of game.
